Bought a bike off of Kevin so that I'll be able to go riding with my co-workers. Lesa, Lynn and Luke, besides having first names that start with the letter "L", also ride bikes in the NE area of town. Not really the best of seasons to buy one since I won't get much use of it in the cold. I did get to ride a bit around my yard then up and down the street some. But, as my title alluded to, I'll need to get a more testicle-friendly seat. Not being gross, just being realistic. Anyway, this was an inexpensive way to try out cycling to see if it's something that I'd have an interest in. Instead of going all out on a really NICE bike then deciding cycling wasn't for me, I can try this one out. It's pretty decent actually.
Let's see... today I fooled around with my home theater stuff a little. I was trying to get better bass out of my sub and figured I'd try some new locations for it. There was a lot of grunting on my part as I lugged it around the room. I had my sound meter to calibrate things once I got settled. The meter is to make sure the output of all the channels is balanced. You can do it without a meter but I doubt your results would be "right". You may not care OR be too lazy to do it right, but I'll take the time as it's worth it to me.
Kerry came over earlier today for me to see what I could do with his drums. He has some 1978 vintage Ludwig Vistalites. VERY NICE DRUMS. One problem though - they sound like crap. It might have something to do with him not changing the heads in 25 years. Hmmm. Slapped some of my retired heads on there and got things sounding MUCH better. The design of the drums is typical of the era... no resonant (bottom) heads. Except for the 18" floor tom which DID have a 2nd head. Not sure why they only did that one drum. He was very appreciative of my help. I was glad to do it. I'll try and help a brutha out if I can.
Heading to the Burns in a little while to steam up some crab. Yum.
