I actually worked here?!?!

Tonight after work I met up with the Guad squad - The Burns, me, Kyle, Dave and Chuck. I wanted to get done eating and walking the mall without eating up all my evening. I had a taco, refried beans, rice and a beef enchilada all washed down with a Negra Modelo in an ice cold mug. Mmmmm...

I took advantage of a 75% off sale at Dillard's and picked up 2 shirts that normally would have cost $140 for about $38 (incuding our high-@ss sales tax of 9%). Good colors and nice fabrics. Visited Parisian next and found nothing of interest there. Ran into Tanya at Sears. Talked to her a little before takin it to the crib. Walking back to our cars, Kyle and I discussed how much the mall had changed since we worked there many, MANY years ago. We were pointing and naming where old stores used to be - County Seat, Record Bar, Camelot Music, Southern Sound, Athlete's Feet, Afterthoughts, Friedman's Jewlers, Lorch's Diamond Center, J. Riggins, Roger's, Lerner... so many places have been through there. Back in the day, Kyle worked at AB Stephens, a music store. I worked at several places until I shifted into retail management. Wow, those were the days. Fun times for sure. But things are different there now. What once was a decent mall now sucks. If I didn't go to Guadalajara Grill to eat from time to time, I would never go to this particular mall for anything. I'd rather drive over to Huntsville, Birmingham or even Nashville to find what I'm looking for. Honestly, I don't know how the mall tenants here survive. It's crazy.
